A simple walk along the long distance GR7, traversing hillsides and gorges via the quiet white villages of Soportujar and Cañar

Route Description

Start from Padre Eterno on the main Orgiva to Trevelez road just a few km east of Soportujar. Take the dirt track opposite for 500m until the GR7 path is met. Turn left and follow this through the village of Soportujar. A steep short rise until an acequia is met which is followed to cross the Rio Chico. Through Cañar and down through a series of gorges before reaching a goat farm on a grassy plateau above Lanjarón. The main track is followed with a diversion off to visit the Tajos de la Cruz with it’s marvellous view over the town of Lanjarón
